XC polymer used in the oil industry to thicken drilling fluids.

XC polymer is a polysaccharide produced by the bacterial genus Xanthomonascampestris, also known as xanthan gum biopolymer.

In the oil industry, XC polymer is largely used to thicken drilling fluids (drilling mud). It is a premium grade viscosifier, which can provide great rheology control in a wide range of brines, drilling and fracturing fluids etc. XC polymer has extraordinary compatibility with sea salt and resistance to thermal degradation.
